Cave crave from 3R Games has received a major update on Meta Quest, adding two new content pieces: a timed arcade mode and a horror map called abyss. A psvr2 release is planned, and the steamvr version is in final testing with a launch expected within the next few weeks.
Arcade mode turns the game's spelunking traversal into a time-trial format. Players move through cave routes, hit checkpoints, and compete against their own previous times and those of other players. The mode builds on the game's existing climbing and movement mechanics.

Cave crave's new abyss horror map
Abyss is a new map for the game's existing horror mode. It draws on cosmic horror themes and places players in dark caverns described as hiding ancient threats. The map is available now alongside the arcade mode update.

Cave crave update key art
3R Games reports Cave crave has sold over 50,000 copies since launch. A previous October update added a recreation of the real-world nutty putty cave in utah — a site closed after a fatal accident in 2009 — with Brandon kowallis, one of the 2009 rescuers, serving as consultant and in-game audio guide.
The game is available on the Meta Quest store. A trailer for the update is on YouTube.
